18mm ProMalt Freezer Boilies (5kg)

18mm ProMalt Freezer Boilies – 5kg

ProMalt wasn't created by choosing a list of fashionable carp bait ingredients and then marketing them to you.

It starts with a base mix that already catches fish.

Beneath the soluble attractors that define ProMalt, lies a blend that's generated hundreds of outstanding catch reports alone, well before ProMalt existed. The BP Milling blend of cereals.

Rather than trying to build a bait around an attractive smell or a fashionable liquid, we already had a base that fish would readily accept as food.

Then we started building on it.

Prosaf® soluble yeast extract

One of the ingredients that became fundamental to the ProMalt profile is Prosaf® – a highly soluble, high-protein yeast product developed for use in low fishmeal aquafeeds.

Prosaf® is rich in glutamate, with a naturally salty, savoury, beefy taste profile.

It's an ingredient that consistently produced the fish response we were looking for throughout development and became a defining part of ProMalt.

Then there's the cheese...

We knew we wanted cheese powder in the recipe, but simply putting “cheese powder” on an ingredient list wasn't good enough.

The producer was as important to us as the ingredient itself.

We deliberately looked towards leading manufacturers with the technology and quality control required to produce a consistent cheese powder batch after batch.

Then we tested different cheese powders.

Not just by smelling and tasting them ourselves, we let the fish help us decide.

There was a clear winner.

That's the cheese powder that made it into ProMalt.

Attraction is only part of what we wanted from the finished bait.

ProMalt also incorporates an aquafeed vitamin and mineral premix, selected to provide a broad spectrum of micronutrients specifically relevant to fish nutrition.

But the fish had the final say.

Having good ingredients on paper wasn't enough.

Over approximately two years of development, different versions of the ProMalt recipe were rolled into boilies and evaluated through observations at the BP Milling fish farm, weeks of underwater footage and structured testing with a group of experienced koi keepers.

Each trial sample was assessed around the behaviours we actually cared about:

Attraction – How quickly did the fish find the bait?

Acceptance – Once they picked it up, did they swallow it confidently or eject it?

Feeding stimulation – After eating one, how quickly did they begin searching for another?

Overall response – Having watched their own fish feed on it, what did the tester actually think of the bait?

These weren't unfamiliar fish being observed once.

The koi keepers involved knew their fish and their normal feeding behaviour, making changes in response particularly valuable to us.

Their feedback, alongside our own observations, helped influence which ingredients stayed and the levels at which they were eventually included.

This is where ProMalt began.

The finished boilie brings together our proven cereal base with highly soluble yeast extracts, carefully selected cheese powder, aquafeed micronutrients and the distinctive ProMalt taste and attraction profile that emerged from two years of development.

Proven ingredients. Two years of development. Refined by fish response.

The bait that built the ProMalt range.
